Ok, I don’t really talk like that when I’m in England, but I thought it was fitting as today I leave for London! That’s right kids, my summer vacation will officially commence at 5 p.m. today (and last through August 8 ) when I board a flight east. Since living in London in 2006, I make a biannual pilgrimage back to my favorite city to visit friends and soak up the culture.
Activities on the agenda include cafe lattes and reading at Caffé Nero, shopping on Bond and Oxford Streets (the former of which has the Mecca of Ralph Lauren stores), savoring a Ben’s Cookies treat (best cookies in the world!), checking out the Grace Kelly: Style Icon exhibit at the Victoria and Albert , sampling international beers at the pub, and having a picnic in Hyde Park. Sounds like a good vacation, right? Add in some serious catching up and bonding time with friends I haven’t seen in two years and you’ve got yourself one happy belle in the city:)
Books making the trip with me include:
Reading Lolita in Tehran by by Azar Nafisi (Started this weeks ago and work has kept me too busy to finish. Time to change that stat!)
The Crying Tree by Naseem Rakha
I’ll also be taking along my newly-purchased Nikon Coolpix S3000 to capture all the fun. My Mac will also be on the journey with all good intentions writing next week. Though should relaxation and fun take over, have a great week and I’ll be back in full form by August 9!
