As you know, I arrived in London on Saturday morning and to say I’ve had a blast would be the understatement of the century! Here’s a run down of the activities thus far:
I arrived on Saturday morning and promptly hit the Tube, aka the Underground, after only about a half hour at immigration. Not bad if I do say so myself:) My friend Tai, with whom I’ve been staying until tomorrow when she leave town, met me at her local stop in Chiswick. Such a beautiful area of town and so many dogs! It’s crazy. After a bit of freshening up, we headed out to the high street for a bit of necessary shopping (i.e. UK hair dryer and straightener, cell phone, etc), dining, drinking, and of course, catching up.

Sunday we went shopping, or rather Tai did, at London’s first (and by my account only) mall. That’s right kids, the American concept of shopping has invaded England. Strange at it was, especially considering I don’t even shop in malls in the States, this mall put ours to shame. The architecture alone was insane! We wrapped up the night watching Inception (amazing!) at a movie theater where not only could we have a cocktail (yes!) but we could also reserve our seats! No matter how locate you come, your seat is guaranteed…such a concept!
Tai went back to work on Monday, so I was on my own…ergo, museums here I come! I was very proud of fact that not only remembered how to get to the Victoria & Albert Museum, but I was also astute enough to remember how to inform the three different people who asked me for directions:) That of which, brings me to Grace Kelly. The Grace Kelly: Style Icon exhibit is positively amazing. It starts with some of her most recognizable or daring outfits whilst an actress and follows her progression through her union to Prince Rainier III of Monaco and subsequent time as a princess. Talk about an icon! Combine Jackie O with a bit of international flair and Grace Kelly is what you shall get. Such beauty!
On tap for tomorrow: who knows! That’s the beauty of vacation my friends:)
Ahhh I am so glad you got there safely! I am dying to hear about this movie that everyone is raving about. Tell Tai I said Hi and have a great week!
Rave does not begin to describe it. Positively amazing!
Again, so envious of your trip. I have been to London only once but cannot wait to go back. So much to do, and I feel more cultured just wandering the streets! And, we need to bring that cinema concept to the States!
